Mark Davis
Director of Golf
Mark is a former European Tour player with a distinguished playing career, Mark won the English Amateur Open Stroke play Championship in 1984 and represented England at youth, junior and senior Level.
Mark turned professional in 1986 and played on the European Tour for over 20 years, finishing in the top one hundred Order of Merit eight times, with a best of 31st in 1994. Mark won The Austrian Open in 1991 and 1994, and subsequently played on the Seniors Tour winning the Scottish Open in 2014.
Clive Tucker

Clive is recognised as one of Europe’s most sought after teaching professionals. Having spent 10 years as a playing professional competing in tour events in Europe and Africa, Clive made the move into elite coaching with up and coming Professional David Howell, who climbed from 155th in world ranking to 9th within 4 years of Clive's coaching.
The success David achieved whilst working with Clive was soon recognised by other Tour players and Clive coached Graeme McDowell at the time of his US Open win in 2010.
Steve Cipa
Head PGA Professional
Steve’s association with South Essex Golf Club has spanned a period of over 25 years having originally joined the club in 1994. Over the period Steve also pursued a career in tournament golf, being a regular on the European Seniors Tour and achieving three top 10 finishes.
Steve is now back at South Essex Golf Club working with the team in golf services, and is attached to the club as our PGA Professional. Steve is also available for on course 9 hole lessons which can be booked via the coaching introduction page.
Jason MacNiven
PGA Professional/Custom Club Fitter
Club fitting expert Jason MacNiven offers a professional and personal service at South Essex Golf Club through his company Golf Principles. Jason is a PGA member and renowned in the industry for his knowledge with over 20 years of experience.
His staff at Golf Principles are all specialists in club and shaft technology, and tailor their services to suit their customers and welcome all ages and levels of golfers.
Sean O'Regan
Golf Operations Manager
Sean is our golf operations manager, he has recently completed his PGA training. Before turning professional and completing his training, Sean spent his amateur career playing numerous county and national events.
He is currently playing his professional golf in the PGA east region whilst also coaching all levels of golfers from beginners to high standard Adults and Juniors.
